Willie Watson
Another Scotsman who was to have a long career at Valley Parade. Willie joined City from Airdrieonians in May 1921 for a then record fee of £3,050.He made 347 appearances for the Paraders at left back and captained City to the Third Division (North) Championship in 1928.
His only goal for the club was a spectacular long-range effort against Portsmouth, which he hit home from inside his own half!

Willie left for Walsall in August 1931 after ten fruitful years at Valley Parade. He played only one season there before returning to Bradford to become a publican in Baildon.
Willie died in the village in October 1950.
