Committee Meeting held in Club Rooms

Mr G A Gadie presided.

The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed.

Reply from Bradford City A.F.C. was read and granting the necessary permission for Band collecting box to be taken round the Club Tea Room on first team match days.

The Treasurer reported the position to date re Band collections: the Sub-Committee dealing with this matter made arrangements to have Band collection counted immediately after each match.

Whist Drive and Dance Jan 18/39
Final arrangements were competed for this function.

Sale of Refreshments at Valley Parade
Mr Schofield handed over to the Club £5 proceeds to date from this work.

The Secretary reported re Football Pontoon and the meeting decided that this effort be continued.

Next meeting arranged for March 6/39.

The Secretary reported re loan of cushions to ‘Seat Circle’ Co-operative Amateur Dramatics Society for use at Co-op Hall, Southgate, Bradford,

The accounts £1-15-0 each, comprise Tea Marketing Bureau, were passed for payment.

Balance Sheets for Football Pontoon no 1,2,3 and 4 were presented showing the following results: no 1 surplus £3-5-2, no 2 surplus £7-13-8, no 3 £3-13-1, no 4 loss £2.0.4 (not surplus no 1 to no 4 £13-11-7) these were approved and passed.

Final arrangements were completed for this season.

Balance Sheet for Whist Drive and Dance Jan 18/39 showing a surplus was presented and passed.

Next meeting arranged for May 1/39.

Mr T Warner presided.

The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed.

Letter was read from Mr F Westgarth, manger of the Bradford City Club reported what he termed false allegations in respect of his attitude towards members of the playing staff re their attendance at social events organised by the Supporters Club. Mr Warner as being the member of the Committee indicated, gave his report on his actions and efforts in this matter. After discussion the Secretary was instructed to reply, pointing out that the present position was evidently due to some misunderstandings between the Bradford City management, the playing staff and the Supporters Club and thanking M Westgarth for his expressed desire of wishing to work with the Supporters Club.

The Secretary reported the position re Football Pontoon £21 being handed to Treasurer proceeds to date.

Mr Simpson reported re Whist Drives and Dances during season. Proceeds from both efforts which was handed to Treasurer.

Mr Schofield presented Balance Sheet for sale of refreshment on ground during season, showing surplus of £10-5-8. Balance of £5-5-8 £5 handed Mon Jan 9/39) was passed forward to Treasurer.

Cheque was received from Bradford City Supporters Club (Social Section) for £24-5-0 being for satisfactions £4-5-0 and £20 towards repayment of loan showing as £100. The meetings best thanks were asked to be forwarded to the Social Section Committee, both for their endeavour to reduce loan and for fee use of rooms for Supporters Club functions.

The Treasurer reported re the financial position of the Club.

The meeting decided on a further donation of £100 being forwarded to Bradford City A.F.C. towards Grounds Purchase Scheme.

The Annual General Meeting was fixed for Monday May 22/39 8.00pm.

Mr G A Gadie presided.

The minutes of the last Annual General Meeting were read and adopted and the proposal of Mr H May seconded Mr H Linton.

The Treasurer Mr Woodhouse, presented statement of accounts for the year 1938/39 which shoed a further donation of £100 towards Valley Parade Grounds Purchase (£1,350 to day) and a repayment of £20 by Special Section towards £100 loan from Supporters Club. Proposed Mr W Smith seconded Mr May and carried that this be accepted and passed accordingly.

The Secretaries report on the efforts and activities of the Club during the year, was adopted on the proposal of Mr W Knowles seconded Mr H Linton.

These being no new nominations the following officials were elected for season 1939/40:

Proposed Mr Warner seconded Mr Schofield that £5 honorarium be donated to Secretary.

The President Mr G A Gadie expressed his pleasure on being again re-elected President of the Supporters Club. On behalf of the Club he thanked the various Sub-Committees and their helpers and all other members who had again helped and worked with the raised efforts which the Club had promoted. Also thanked all members for their attendance at this Annual General Meeting.

The meeting closed with vote of thanks to Mr Gadie for presiding.

Mr T Warner presided.

The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed.

The meeting discussed the question of an appointment of Band and terms for season 1939/40. A representative of the Band Ironworks Silver Prize Band stated their position and possible terms to the meeting, following which it was agreed to engaged this Band again at a fee of £4 per match for 2 months only, the position and result to be reviewed in the meantime.

It was decided to again promote the Football Pontoon amongst Club members: Mr Schofield was appointed to act along with the Secretary in organising this effort.

Sub-Committee were elected as follows:
Hire of cushions, sale of team cards and Band collection} Messrs. Warner,
Entertainment: Messrs. Simpson, May, Powell, Bassett 290, and Taylor
Stewards were appointed as follows: Centre Stand Duties D Smith, Outside Ground Duties Messrs. Knowles and Simpson

Mr Schofield undertook to again supply refreshments at Valley Parade.

The Secretary reported receipt of £2-2-0 from Scout Circle for loan of cushions last January.

The promotion of Whist Drive and Dance at Windsor Halls in Feb and March 1940 was discussed. Mr Simpson reported re Thursday evening Whist Drives on behalf of his effort.
